How to Sync iCloud Contacts with Gmail Manually

Follow these steps to upload your iCloud contacts to Gmail:

  • Log in to iCloud from your PC or Mac, then click on Contacts
  • Click on Settings > Export VCard and save it on your computer
  • Open your Gmail account on your PC or Mac
  • Click on Contacts, then More
  • Select Import and choose the VCard you just downloaded
  • Wait for the Sync to complete. You can now access all your iCloud contacts on Gmail.

You can also import your Gmail contacts to iCloud using the steps outlined below:

  • On your PC or Mac, open your Gmail account and click on Contacts, then More
  • Click Export and save the files on your computer. They will appear as VCF
  • Open iCloud from your PC or Mac, then click on Contacts
  • Click Settings, then select Import VCard
  • Select the VCF file you just downloaded

How to Sync Google Contacts With your Mac

You can Sync Google contacts with your Mac by following the steps below:

  • Open System Preferences on your Mac PC
  • Select Internet Accounts then click Google
  • Enter your email address and password
  • Click Next and check Contacts then click Done.

Sync Google Contacts on Your iPad or iPhone

If you want to sync google contacts on your iPhone or iPad, follow the steps outlined below:

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  • Tap Contacts > Accounts > Add Account
  • Select Google and log in using your email and password
  • Tap Next
  • Ensure to switch Contacts ON, then select Save at the top

Once you open your contacts app on your iPhone or iPad, all the Gmail contacts will start syncing.

What if Gmail Contacts aren’t syncing with your iCloud contacts?

If your contacts don’t sync after you have followed the steps above, ensure your iPhone is connected to the internet and then follow the method below using SSL.

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  • Go to Contacts > Accounts > Google
  • Switch Contacts ON
  • Tap Account, then Advanced
  • Find Use SSL and tap on ON
  • Tap Account > Done
